FOOD.

Blueberry Muffins

I used this recipe.  Halfway through, I realized I didn't have vanilla extract, flour (I only had whole wheat flour, not all-purpose), or milk (could have sworn I at least had almond milk... oops...) and had to leave everything and run to the store in my pyjamas.  I got back, made the muffins, poured the batter into the little papers, then realized I forgot to add baking powder or salt.  I thought maybe this wouldn't be TOO big a deal, so I checked to see exactly how much baking powder the recipe called for, and... yeah.  It was kind of a big deal.  So I had to scoop the batter back out of the papers and into the mixing bowl, which ruined the papers, and I didn't feel like going to the store again, so only half of the muffins had papers and I decided to go green and paperless with the rest of them.  Anyway.  They came out fine.  More than fine.  My whole house smells like blueberry muffins now, and these will make for a nice quick breakfast before hitting the ski slopes this weekend (yep, there's still snow).

Bon appetit.

great idea: make a frame for your mirror with dried twigs, leave a burning candle next to it (make sure not to trim the wick so the flame is HUGE), then put on your coat and walk away

Style Samples

Citrine by the Stones Pearl Bracelet, $150 (modern twist on the classic pearl bracelet... I love this one because it reminds of my mom's "tasbih" or prayer beads in rose-colored crystal or hematite that I used to wear wrapped around my wrist... got my own with dark green crystals later on)
La Mer Collections Venice Watch, $106 (never seen this brand around before, but I also love these wrap-around styles they have)

FOR MORE COOL WATCHES:  check out these DEDEGUMO ones... gorgeous... I think they start at around $350
American Apparel Stripe Thigh-High Sock, $44 on sale (just got a pair of the plain black thigh highs and like the way they look with black boots, but I've always kinda had my eye on these sporty thigh highs, too... don't know if I'd actually wear them outside the house, though...)

Toms Black Canvas Classic Shoes, $44 (I have a pair of the grey ones: ridiculously comfy, durable, cute, and for a good cause)
Topshop Blue Embellished Cut Out Dress, $360 (I'm still wearing dresses I got from Topshop in London... they're the best)
Sass & Bide Kind & Charitable Skirt, $264 (I had tried a black layered skirt similar to this at Juicy and it just looked like I was wearing a curtain, but I think the different materials in this layered skirt give it more structure)
Thomas Pink White Casual Georgia Women's Shirt, $185 (I would be perfectly happy if all I had in my closet were simple yet chic shirts like this, black leggings, and riding boots)
Reed's Ginger Chews, $22 for 20 packs (...that's the only price I could find online, so unless you're planning on buying in bulk, just look for them at Gelson's or something.  I've tried other brands of ginger chews and these ones are amazing!  Really gingery and spicy as hell and delicious!)
